The only people who think that African American History Month formerly known as "Black History Month" relegates our history to only one month have NEVER studied the History behind African American History Month and why Dr. Carter G. Woodson created it. It is absolutely disrespectful to this man who dedicated his life trying to wake up African Americans who would rather believe myths and lies than to study their own actual history that is documented. The celebration was designed to celebrate the accomplishments, achievements and history of African Americans but also Africans on the Continent of Africa. It was never designed to only deal with history from 1619 to present day. As far as that goes, African people are indigenous to North, Central and South America and have been in the territory known as the United States for at least 51,700 years. This was before Native Americans or Asians were here. Please read the book "The First Americans Were Africans: Documented Evidence" by Dr. David Imhotep. He has 713 footnotes thoroughly documenting the African Presence in the Americans. Visit www.HistoricTruth.Info.
